NORTHERN STAR AND SHELL: IGNITING BUSINESS SUCCESS THROUGH LUBRICANTS SALES PARTNERSHIPS

The Northern Star and Shell Lubricants Teams joined forces on October 4, 2023 to host Igniting Success With Shell Lubricants, a special event for NStar’s B2B customers in Regions 1 and CAR.

The one-day program held at Pinewood Park Golf Course, Baguio City, highlighted Shell’s latest lubricant products. Speakers from both teams shared their expertise and insights through presentations on the fundamentals of lubrication and the Shell Lubricants product portfolio in the Transport and Construction Sectors.

    To add to the excitement, attendees were also given exclusive deals with up to 40% discount on select Shell Lubricants products!

    NORTHERN STAR STARTS  DAY ONE OF SCHOOL YEAR ‘23-‘24 WITH 200 SCHOOL SUPPLY PACKS

    Students of Malaya Integrated National High School in Pililla, Rizal received a total of 200 school supply packs from Northern Star Fuel Facilities Solutions (NSF) on August 29, 2023 to mark the start of school year 2023-2024.

    The donation was made through Sikap, Tulong, Sulong (STS) and Project Marigold (Marigold), corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs of Northern Star Energy Corporation (NStar), NSF’s parent company.

      NSF donated 140 school supply packs through STS and the additional 60 packs — plus three electric fans — were from Marigold. STS is the blanket CSR program of the NStar Group with central themes focused on education, health, environment, and values formation while Marigold is an employee-driven donation drive.  STS and Marigold operate in tandem to harness the collective generosity and support of the Northern Star Team.

      NSF believes this initiative cultivates a pipeline for future talent, promotes positive social change, and aligns with the company’s ethical values.

      THE MOMENTUM CONTINUES: NSTAR’S MID-YEAR TOWN HALL MEETING 2023

      Northern Star Energy Corporation held Riding on the Momentum, its Mid-Year Townhall Meeting: on July 31, 2023, at the Makati Head Office.

      The session commenced with an acknowledgment of the successes of the past year and moved on to discuss how the company plans to implement game-changing decisions to continue elevating operational efficiency and spurring transformational initiatives.

      Beyond celebrating business accomplishments, the Management also delved into NSTAR’s willingness to confront challenges head-on and address employee concerns and suggestions raised during the pre-meeting survey.

      NSTAR’s bi-annual Townhall meetings serve as a platform for transparency to continuously promote teamwork, alignment, and focus.

        READY AND VAXXED FOR THE FLU SEASON!

          Northern Star took another proactive measure to prioritize the health and safety of its employees by providing a complimentary Quadrivalent Flu Vaccine to the staff. Held on June 22-23 the vaccine was administered by our company nurse at the NStar head office.

            This engagement demonstrates Northern Star’s commitment to maintain a healthy work environment and prevent the spread of the flu virus.

            NSTAR STS GOES TO ISABELA

            Northern Star Energy Corporation once again demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility through its inaugural Sikap, Tulong, Sulong! (STS) activity in 2023. This time, the STS initiative aimed to benefit Sinsayon Elementary School in Santiago, Isabela.

              One notable addition to this year’s STS was Project Marigold, a donation drive led by the employees themselves. This initiative allowed those who were unable to physically participate in the STS activity to show their support.

              On June 2, 2023, NStar presented the Project Marigold donations to the school: 15 electric fans to create a comfortable learning environment, a water dispenser to promote hydration and health, and a 40-inch Android TV to enhance teaching and learning.

                The following day, June 3, NStar employee volunteers joined forces with their NGO partner, Renovate to Educate (rED), to organize a refurbishment event at the school. A total of 43 NStar staff, with assistance from the rED Team, fabricated seven blackboards and ten bookshelves, repainted three classrooms, repaired a roof, and replaced five ceilings.

                  The STS program has been an integral part of Northern Star’s initiatives for the past seven years, serving as a testament to the company’s enduring commitment to improve and move lives forward by making a positive impact in the communities where it operates.

                  GAMECHANGER – THE 2022 POLARIS AWARDS AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY

                  “Gamechangers” from across the Northern Star Convenience Retail network gathered for the Polaris Awards and General Assembly at the Clark Marriott Hotel on May 18 and 19, 2023, to celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of retailer-partners in 2022 and take advantage of this platform for meaningful interactions and forging new connections.


                  Northern Star COO Juan Miguel T. Delgado opened the event on May 18 by thanking all attendees for their loyalty and support during the trying times of the Pandemic. He recapped changes and successes achieved by Northern Star in convenience retailing in 2022 and provided a preview of the exciting future that lies ahead.

                  Retailer-Partners Lisa Magaoay of Shell Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, and Marvin Tan of Caltex Baler, Aurora, then generously shared their best practices to keep their fellow retailers inspired and equipped with valuable insights to elevate their own performances. The night culminated with the highly anticipated recognition of the Polaris 2022 awardees and the handing out of plaques, cash prizes, and travel incentives to Taiwan.

                  The energy continued to soar on May 19 as the NEL, MELA, and LUISA territories, along with the NStar All Stars team, came together to show their TikTok skills before listening to Noel Ang, NStar’s Consultant for Convenience Expansion & Growth, talk about Norther Star’s non-fuel retail activities, achievements, plans and programs.

                  Motivational speaker Carelle Herrera followed Noel from Trainstation Inc., who blew everyone away with a masterful presentation on the need for change to survive and stay ahead in today’s dynamic business landscape.

                  NORTHERN STAR ENERGY GROUP RECOGNIZED AT THE PTC GROUP’S 2022 STRATEGIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS

                  The Northern Star Energy Group of Companies won big during the annual PTC Strategic Excellence Awards held on March 14, 2023 at the Penthouse of First Maritime Place.

                  Northern Star Energy Corporation and its subsidiaries – Northern Star Fuel Facilities Solutions, Inc. and GoPetrol Transport, Inc. – emerged among the most multi-awarded business units with a total of two major awards and four special citations. Receiving the awards on behalf of the Northern Star Leadership and Management Team were Romeo Regaspi, Chief Financial Officer, and Rachelle Ann Kho, HR Manager.

                  The PTC Strategic Excellence Awards was organized by the PTC Group to honor the accomplishments of its business units and support groups in 2022.

                    THE WOMEN OF NORTHERN STAR #EMBRACEEQUITY

                    It was purple day on March 17, 2023 when the women of the Northern Star group donned the royal color to signify that they #EmbraceEquity in this year’s celebration of International Women’s Month.

                    Their participation provided a platform to express themselves and highlighted the importance of women across Northern Star. The event also included an HPV and HPV (Cervical Cancer) Vaccine Awareness talk and gifts of appreciation for the ladies.

                        NORTHERN STAR RETAILERS SHINE IN 2022 CALTEX BAYANIHAN INCENTIVE PROGRAM

                        Northern Star Retailers were once again recognized during the virtual awarding of 2022 Caltex Bayanihan Incentive Program last February 10, 2023. The program acknowledged Caltex service stations that have performed well in the year 2022.

                        Three Caltex-branded service stations of Northern Star landed in the Top 20 Brand Marketer Retailers because of their outstanding performance. They are:

                        TOP 14 – Argie Fuel Station – Brgy. Sampaloc, Cabatuan, Isabela

                        TOP 16 – Northern Star Energy Corporation – Brgy. Patul Road, Santiago City, Isabela

                        TOP 19 – Power Plus Gasoline Station – Diversion Road, Tuguegarao City

                        Customer service, local marketing, facilities management, and volume growth were among the criteria considered for this recognition.
