Northern Star’s Sikap, Tulong, Sulong! (STS) kicked off 2025 with the delivery of free eyeglasses to 98 students of Manuel A. Roxas High School in Paco, Manila on January 8.
This completes the special mission conducted by Northern Star in partnership with Physicians for Peace Philippines (PFPP) when pupils from Grades 7 to 12 underwent eye screening on December 12, 2024.
PFPP Optometrist, Carlina Regodon, O.D., gave a brief lecture on how to properly care for the eyes and use new eyeglasses effectively. This helped ensure that the students would make the most of their new lenses, which are expected to help them excel in their studies and daily lives.
Through the STS program, Northern Star continues to demonstrate its dedication to uplifting lives and empowering communities.
Northern Star’s Convenience Retail team and esteemed retailer-partners came together for Sweaters, Dinner, and Cheers! on December 14, 2024, at Grand Sierra Pines in Baguio City.
The event welcomed retailer-partners from across Northern Star’s network of Shell mobility sites and Caltex service stations, celebrating the collaboration and teamwork that fuel the company’s success in convenience retail.

Northern Star’s Sikap, Tulong, Sulong! (STS) program brought early Christmas cheer to the students and staff of Manuel A. Roxas High School in Paco, Manila, through a healthcare mission held in partnership with Physicians For Peace Philippines (PFPP).
The event, held on December 12, 2024, provided essential healthcare services, including optical assessments for students and breast and cervical cancer screenings for female teaching and non-teaching personnel. Out of the 100 students screened, 94 were prescribed eyeglasses, which will be distributed free of charge on January 8, 2025. Additionally, 12 women received breast cancer screenings, while three underwent cervical screenings.
Brief but impactful remarks were delivered by PFPP COO Lyne Abanilla, NStar Customer Experience Manager Mike Ortega, and Manila City Councilor Raymundo “Mon” Yupangco. Together, they underscored the importance of regular medical check-ups and highlighted the crucial role of sponsors like NStar in supporting NGOs and LGUs to make healthcare accessible to the community.
The healthcare mission marked the fourth and final CSR activity of the year for the NStar Group. As with previous STS initiatives focusing on education and the environment, the event reflected the company’s core values of malasakit and community engagement. Looking ahead to 2025, NStar remains steadfast in its commitment to creating positive change in the communities it serves, driving progress and opportunity through future STS programs.

On November 14, Forecourt Service Champion (FSC) Mark Oligo of Shell Rosario 2 LU, Subusub discovered a high-value smartphone left behind in the restroom. He promptly turned it over to management, ensuring its safe return when the grateful owner came back. As a token of appreciation, the customer offered a reward, which Mark generously shared with his team to celebrate their collective dedication to honesty.
Just five days later, on November 19, FSC Cyrus Delantar of Shell Meralco, Pasig 1, Julia Vargas demonstrated the same level of integrity. He discovered a wallet containing cash, cards, and IDs and immediately surrendered it to the station officer. Within an hour, the owner returned to retrieve their belongings and expressed deep gratitude for the team’s honesty and swift action.

Employees from Sta. Cruz Storage Corporation Inc. (SCSC), a joint venture between Northern Star Energy Corporation and DMC-CERI, took part in the International Coastal Cleanup 2024 at a beach along Purok Rambutan, Brgy. Darong, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur on September 21, 2024.
During the two-and-a-half-hour cleanup, 15 SCSC volunteers successfully collected 29 sacks of waste composed of 20 sacks of plastic debris, nine sacks of biodegradable materials, and a bottle of hazardous medical waste.
Neil Paraje, SCSC Operations Supervisor, expressed his appreciation for the team’s dedication, noting that protecting the environment aligns closely with the company’s focus on health, safety, and environmental responsibility. He encouraged the group to stay committed to environmental initiatives, saying, “Let’s continue to work together in safeguarding our environment and to support this kind of activity for future generations.”

(NSF) and Northern Star Energy Corporation (NStar) brought excitement to the students of Malaya Integrated National High School during “Shuffle, Toss, Score! For a Cause”, a fun and interactive community donation and engagement event under the Sikap, Tulong, Sulong (STS) program.
NSF donated two units 43” Smart TV, 12 board games, and eight assorted sports equipment for the school’s new Reading Center. What made this event special was the opportunity of the NSF and NStar teams to play with the students using the board games they donated. Prizes were awarded to winners, and snacks were shared, creating a joyful experience for everyone involved.
