A book can take a child farther than where their feet would carry them.
This is what Northern Star Facilities Solutions Inc. (NSF) helped make possible through #SparkDay, its community initiative under the NStar Sikap, Tulong, Sulong! (STS) Program.
On September 2, 2026, NSF donated 254 reading materials to Malaya Elementary School in Pililla, adding to the school’s resources for its young learners. Fifty students also had the chance to listen, participate, and enhance their imagination in a storytelling session led by a professional storyteller from Adarna House.
NSF volunteers from Pililla were joined by Northern Star head office employees. The day became more than simply an act of volunteering: they sat among the children, shared laughter, and saw firsthand what a story can mean when it is experienced together.
For NSF, #SparkDay is one of the simple ways it can contribute to make learning resources and experiences more accessible to children in the communities it serves, one community at a time.
